Two of the major problems we all experience as we age are a loss of depth perception and contrast sensitivity. When we couple this occurrence with decreased muscular efficiency and inadequate control of the environmental factors in the lives of sedentary seniors, we can understand the underlying causes of poor balance and falling.
This Balance and Fall Prevention program is designed to address these issues by targeting risk factors for falls and incorporate an exercise program that will prepare their bodies and stimulate their minds for quicker decisions in difficult situations that lead to loss of balance and falling.
